Jonas Mileta studied Cultural History and Theory as well as Social Sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of Bergen and Koç University in Istanbul.
Since December 2025, Jonas Mileta is a research assistant at the Institute for the History of Medicine at Technische Universität Dresden and works in the research projectSick me – healing community? The »depressive person« as a social projekt in the GDR from 1945 to 1975. A therapeutic and social history of depression under socialism.
Jonas Mileta is currently conducting research into the history of knowledge and science relating to depression and its treatment, as well as into the history of psychiatry in the GDR and its integration into the healthcare system.
